Gun Cotton pimers were stored in a metal tube.
Each primer was put in a cardboard sleeve.
Fist to protect them, because these primers were not wrapped with paper like the Primer Field, and second, with the sleeve around, it was easyer to pull them out of the tube with the string attatched.
